This week, the team came up with a concept of what was going to be built. The main object of this week was what design we wanted to employ for the artificial heart valve. The best fit, as of now, was a spaghetti steamer basket design which would be pressure activated. A picture of the steamer can be seen to the right.
This week was also the week that the design proposal was constructed. Of course, the idea could change over time, but as of now, it looks like it would be a good design to at least start off with. We did quite a bit of research on our topic also. The research helped us brainstorm possible ideas for our design and it helped us understand the problems people faced with current heart valve designs and why they aren't working.
